No. Despite the name, Hostal La Mexicana is a small family-run hotel, not a hostel. In Spain, "hostal" is an official accommodation category for small, simple hotels — it has nothing to do with backpacker hostels. All 28 rooms are private and every room has its own private ensuite bathroom. There are no dormitories and no shared bathrooms.
Hostal La Mexicana is at C/ Juan de Herrera 3, 3rd floor, in central Santander, on a pedestrian street near the Town Hall, the shopping area and Paseo Pereda.
Check-in is from 2:00 pm and check-out is until 12:00 noon.
If you're arriving when reception is closed, let us know in advance so we can explain how to access the building safely.
The street is pedestrian, so cars cannot reach the door. There are public car parks nearby; Parking de la Esperanza is the most practical reference, five minutes on foot.
From the station area, head towards the city centre and the Town Hall area. The hostal is at C/ Juan de Herrera nº3, 3rd floor, on a pedestrian street, 50 metres from the Town Hall entrance.
Yes. We apply a 10% discount on the public rate when you book directly through the official site, without going through a middleman.
Every room has a private bathroom, smart TV, fan, hairdryer, daily housekeeping and high-speed Wi-Fi. Most rooms also have a desk.
We do not have air conditioning. Rooms have fans and heating in winter. The pedestrian street keeps traffic noise out.
Yes, the building has a lift.
The cancellation policy depends on the tariff, dates and conditions of the booking. Review it before confirming; it is always shown clearly before payment.
We offer breakfast on request. Ask us when booking or on arrival to confirm availability.
No. Smoking is forbidden throughout the building.
We accept credit and debit cards. Payment is processed via the official booking engine.
